TRANSPORTATION
GETTING TO THE WEDDING
The wedding venue is bit out of the way from Sausalito and does not have reliable cell phone reception for requesting Ubers at the end of the evening, so we have arranged some shuttles for the event.
Before the wedding, we will have a shuttle running from Cavallo Point Lodge (601 Murray Cir, Sausalito, CA 94965) to the venue.
After the wedding, we will have shuttles returning guests to Cavallo Point Lodge, as well as Fisherman's Wharf (2552 Taylor St, San Francisco, CA 94133) for those staying in the city.
We will send an e-mail closer to the wedding date with specific shuttle timing details.
TO/FROM THE AIRPORT
For guests staying in the city, the best ways into the city from the airport are the BART train and Uber/Lyft (generally $20-$40 depending on your destination; Carter recommends Uber).
For guests staying in Marin/Sausalito, we recommend either requesting an Uber/Lyft (generally $40-$70, cheaper with pool/line) or booking a shuttle with Marin Door To Door (around $45 for first person and $12 for each additional) or Marin Airporter ($22/person with set drop-off points).
GETTING AROUND
For guests staying in the city, public transportation is a great option. Both the BART and MUNI are easy to use and will take you to major neighborhoods within the city. Uber and UberPOOL are also excellent options. A struggling startup called Lyft offers longer ETAs and more expensive rides, if you're into that.
If you're planning on exploring areas outside of the city, such as Marin/Sausalito, renting a car might make sense, although parking in the city can be difficult.
For guests staying in Marin/Sausalito, we recommend considering renting a car for the weekend if you plan on driving into the city or if you prefer to drive yourself to wedding events, as public transportation is less reliable. Ubers/Lyfts are easy to acquire in most of Marin/Sausalito with the exception that parts of the Marin Headlands Park, including the site of our ceremony and reception, do not have reliable cell phone reception.
